AQUACISE
Aerobics and water resistance help you build endurance, strength and
flexibility while reducing tension. Appropriate for swimmers and non- swimmers

AQUAFIT I
This class is designed to provide a low impact, total body workout with an
emphasis on range of motion and flexibility exercises. Aerobics, noodles,
deep-water flotation and water bells promote strength, endurance and fitness.
Appropriate for swimmers and non-swimmers.
DEEP WATER
EXERCISE
Increase total body fitness through aerobic and anaerobic means while
promoting muscular development and flexibility. Resistance equipment js provided
for sculpting benefits that only water can provide. Exercises are performed in
deep water using a flotation belt. (limited amount

DIVING
CLASSES
Springboard diving students learn the basic techniques of five required
dives, proper approach, hurdle, rotation and entry. There are two class levels:
beginner and intermediate/advanced. Intermediate and advanced divers must know
proper approach; hurdle, front dive and entry. Safety techniques are a priority.

This professional class leads to certification in lifeguard Training (lifeguarding),

and present proof of age at the first class. Successful completion of the CPR
portion of the course is required to continue with the Lifeguard Training

The Junior Lifeguard Guard Start course is a challenging program that

and experience necessary to become a future lifeguard. Participants must be
prepared to swim the crawl stroke 25 yards and be comfortable in deep water (see

CATALINA FAMILY OVERNIGHTER
Enjoy the hour-long ride from San Pedro to Catalina Island on
the state-of-the-art Catalina Express. Once on the island you can select two of
the four tours offered: 1929casino tour, daytime glass bottom boat, Avalon
9-mile scenic tour and seal rocks cruise. Over night accommodations, including a
continental breakfast, are provided at the Pavilion Lodge just steps from the

SEA FISHING
Join us for a deep-sea fishing trip off the coast of San Diego in Mexican
waters. Fish aboard Seaforth Sportfishing's 75-foot San Diego, equipped with the
latest electronics and touted as one of the finest local fishing boats in that
area. Trip fee includes bait, rod and reel, tackle and fishing license. The bus
departs on June 9 from Valley View Recreation Center at 11 :30 pm and Silver
Springs Recreation Center at 11 :55 pm. The boat leaves the wharf at 6:00 am and
returns to port at 3:00 pm. Passengers return to the recreation centers by
midnight on June 10, An adult must accompany participants under the age of 18,

CANYON OVERNIGHTER
Enjoy the beautiful scenic landscape, in Zion National Park en route to the
North Rim of the Grand Canyon, The North Rim's climate, scenery, forest and
wildlife are different than that of the South Rim, Mule rides into the canyon
are available the morning of June 24. Those over the age of 8 and weighing less
than 200 pounds may participate at an extra cost of $40. Trip fee includes

HIKING BRYCE
CANYON
Bryce Canyon National Park is named for horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters
carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in southern Utah.
Erosion has shaped colorful limestones, sandstones, and mudstones. Ponderosa
pines, high elevation meadows and fir-spruce forests border the rim of the
plateau. UNLV Outdoor Adventures provides guides, transportation, food and
necessary equipment. This excursion is limited to 12 individuals. Participants
are responsible for providing necessary camping equipment (rentals are
available}. The minimum age allowed with an adult is 15. Mandatory pre- trip
meeting on August 9 at 7:30 pm. Participants must register by August 1.

Join us for an overnight deep-sea fishing trjp off the coast of San
Clemente. Travel by bus to Dana Wharf Sportfishing Marina and board a 65- foot

supplies pillows and blankets for your sleeping comfort. You are welcome to
bring your own fishing gear but no coolers are allowed on the boat. Bus departs

BASKETBALL - ADULT
The adult basketball program is comprised of two divisions: 30 and over.
(plays Mondays and Wednesdays), and 16 and over (plays on Tuesdays and
Thursdays). All leagues are recreational with games taking place at local

required to have identical reversible jerseys with numbers on the front and

This course is presented by the Las Vegas Power Squadron. It is designed to

This workshop focuses on financial assistance services avail able to college
