NOTE: The City of Willcox recently completed an renovation of the main park facility for the community.  Part of the renovation was the construction of a sand volleyball court.  Through local contractors we actually found "beach" sand that made the surface almost perfect.  Not only did this attract the volleyball players but kids as well for their sandbox playtime.  At first it was considered as great as Grandma's Apple Pie.  As the winds picked up and the consistent activity in the court the sand began to disappear as well as make a mess through the rest of the park.  Other types of sand were hauled in to mix with the existing.  Now what we have is a hard surface that needs to be tilled up from time to time (at least once a week) to maintain it's playing ability.  We thought the use of the surface would keep it worked up enough, but this didn't happen.
