Gain an understanding of Public Law 101-336, The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
To encourage leisure services providers to consider the impact of the way in which they deliver their services to people with disabilities.
To review the rationale for leisure education for all people, including those with disabilities.
To encourage professionals to promote access and thereby create opportunities for people with disabilities to engage in community leisure pursuits.
To learning strategies to help encourage integration.
Awareness of adaptations and to encourage current and future practitioners to adapt the information presented in their programs as necessary.
To provide suggestions on how to be an effective advocate for services.
