An Exciting New Addition to the Sedona St. Patrick’s Day Parade Festivities!

There is a new addition to this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade festivities in Sedona. The first ever St. Patrick’s Day Parade Festival will also take place on March 12th, extending the entertainment available at the parade which has been enormously popular over past years. The  Parade Festival will run from 9:00 until 2:00 alongside the Parade Route in the Sacajawea Plaza Parking Lot off Jordan Road.

Refreshments and food will be offered on site by Uptown businesses and a variety of children’s activities will be available. Children will be able to enjoy pony rides, ride a barrel train and use up some energy in a bouncy castle before the Parade starts. Immediately following the Parade, the festival will continue, adding live music performances. The entertainment will include the band “Knockabouts”, the barbershop quartet “Harmony on the Rocks” and bagpipers “The Irish Pipers of Sedona”.

Sponsors make it possible to continue the Parade tradition and the extraordinary contribution by Title Sponsor “A Day in the West” has made it possible to add this Parade Festival. It promises to be an exciting extension to the already well established and much-loved parade, and ‘A Day in the West’ and the ‘Pot ‘o’ Gold’ Sponsor ‘Sedona-Oak Creek Canyon Chamber of Commerce’ is thrilled to be involved with this new venture.

The festival is just one part of an action packed day. The day begins at 8:00am with the Shamrocks in the Red Rocks Road Races (both a 1 mile Run/Walk and a 5K Run). The Parade festival begins at 9:00am, with the parade commencing at 10:00am. The parade route follows Jordan Road from the Jordan Historical Park to Mesquite Avenue, ending alongside the Festival site.

Want to take part in the road race? Call Chuck Hammersley at (928) 523 6655 or send an email to charles.hammersley@nau.edu.
