THE CAMP KNIFE AND OTHER TOOLS
The knife, along with
the gun and axe, was an important tool of the pioneer.
The modern day camper of today engaged in campcrafts finds it equally
important.
Young children may
lack the hand-eye coordination necessary to use a knife and other tools
skillfully and safely, but older girls and boys (age 11 and up) soon become
adept with it when taught carefully and enthusiastically.
These skills may or
may not be included in the camp program depending on the type of camp it is.
