Minimum Qualifications
bulletTraining and experience in athletic activities (must be documented); physical education degree preferred
bulletCurrent CPR and first aid certifications
bulletAbility to supervise program assistants and make scheduling assignments
bulletAbility to coordinate multi-faceted athletic program of teaching skills, setting up intramural and intercamp teams
bulletKnowledge and skills in officiating team and individual sports and the ability to teach these skills to staff and campers of all ages
bulletAbility to maintain athletic facilities
bulletDesire and ability to work with children outdoors
bulletAbility to relate to one's peer group
bulletAbility to accept guidance and supervision
bulletGood character, integrity, and adaptability
bulletEnthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control .College student or at least 19 years of age

             Camp director

Camp Goals
             This job description should include specific responsibilities that reflect the goals of the camp and the goals of camper
             development. 

General Responsibility
             To plan, direct, and supervise camp's athletic programs.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Set up athletic areas during staff training.
  2. Teach staff their responsibilities in activity during staff training.
  3. Teach and monitor proper use of equipment.
  4. Conduct initial and end-of-season inventory , and store equipment for safety.
  5. Check equipment and make (or me for) repairs.
  6. Conduct daily check of program area(s) and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair .
  7. Write (with the help of activity assistants) and check all lesson plans.
  8. Keep records on all participants; help them progress from beginner to advanced levels.
  9. Plan and coordinate special athletic events including intercamp trips for camp teams, Olympic Day, College Day, and Color Day.
  10. Submit orders for equipment and/ or supplies, ensuring timely arrival of materials.
  11. Assist in packing all materials and supplies at end of season.
  12. Evaluate current season and make suggestions for following season.
  13. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
