Computer Applications: Program Registration Project

Activity Registration Project

Objective: The purpose of the project is to allow students the opportunity to integrate the individual assignments from the workbook into a complete program registration project. By creating new program/class activities, and generating the reports associated with that activity, the student will demonstrate a working knowledge of the Class Registration program. 

Distance Students: Your computer project must be printed and faxed or mailed (for web-based students) or submitted to the Instructor (campus students).

Professional Portfolio

For ALL PRM majors, this assignment should be saved and placed in your PRM Professional Portfolio.

Part 1: Create the following records using (your name) Recreation Center:
 
bulletA new session Summer 2010. Create all of the following information in this session (Summer 2010).
bullet2 new courses/w classes with complete information activity descriptions (you must charge a fee for all classes) also make the session Summer 2010.
bullet1 new instructors
bullet1 new facility facility type
bullet3 new enrollee's

Part 2: Waitlist 1 enrollee for a selected course.

Part 3: Generate the following reports from your programs.
 
bulletInstructor Listing Report (10 points)
bulletFacility List (10 points)
bulletRegistration Waitlist Report (for one participant) (10 points)
bulletRegistration Receipt (for one enrollee) (10 points)
bulletRegistration Confirmation (for one enrollee) (10 points)
bulletGeneral Ledger Report (including a minimum of 10 registrations) (Detailed Report) (20 points)
bulletBrochure Information (All Details report) (10 points)
bulletPrint a Class List for the new class (5 points each)

Common Problems

This assignment gives you valuable experience in activity registration. It is not difficult but requires your time and attention to detail. Here are some of the problems students have.

  1. Be sure you have completed the online workbook. Not giving yourself enough time to complete the workbook (approximately 8 hours for the workbook and 3 hours for the project).
  2. Not reading the project guidelines carefully.
  3. Make sure you print the exact report requested (General Ledger (detailed) Report, Brochure Information (All details) Report and Instructor Listing) are often not submitted correctly.
  4. Make sure all reports are complete.
