ANNE N. INGRAM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Honoring the Memory of Anne Ingram

Established: 1999

Award:    TBA (usually around $500)

Eligibility:

bulletA current NAU PRM declared major with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
bulletNon-smoker
bulletStudent will submit a 500 word minimum essay describing an outdoor experience, which includes them or both of their parents.  The essay should stress the importance and benefits provided by outdoor recreation in creating and strengthening positive family values and relationships.
bulletThe essays will be reviewed by Dr. Hammersley and the Scholarship Committee.

PARK AND RECREATION CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

Award amount varies between $200 to $500

Eligibility:

Park and Recreation Club Scholarship Application

Please submit your completed application to Dr. Charles Hammersley at his office or his mailbox in Room 271 in the SBS West Buildling (#70).  Applications will be reviewed by Parks and Recreation Club Executive Board members and Dr. Hammersley.

Applications must be filled out completely and submitted by March 2, 2009.  Late applications will not be considered. 

YODER OUTDOOR LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

Honoring the Memory of Dustin and Kristen Yoder.

Dustin Yoder, age 23 and his sister, Kristen Yoder, age 21, passed away in a climbing accident on Mt. Artesonraju in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range, a part of the Peruvian Andes on June 26, 2006.

Dustin and Kristen were both born in Tucson, Arizona.  They graduated from Sabino High School and attended Northern Arizona University where Dustin graduated in December 2005 and Kristen was about to start her senior year.  Dustin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Parks and Recreation Management.  Kristen was a Parks and Recreation Management major, emphasizing in Outdoor Leadership.

Established: Fall, 2006

Scholarship Criteria:

1). Parks and Recreation Major

2). Outdoor Leader Emphasis Area

3). Career Goal of Leading Individuals/Groups in the Outdoors

4). Sophomore/Junior Status (45+ credit hours)

6). 2.7 GPA Acceptable; 3.0 GPA Preferred
