The 8th Annual Verde River Canoe Challenge will take place on Saturday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m.  The ten-mile canoe/kayak race will begin at White Bridge Park (Verde River and Rte. 260) and end at Beasley Flats Recreation Area. A free shuttle service will be provided between White Bridge Park and Beasley Flats.

The event is sponsored by Salt River Project and co-sponsored by Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Department and Northern Arizona University Parks and Recreation Management’s Special Event Planning Class. 

Competitive and Recreational Event Categories: Men's Solo Canoe, Women's Solo Canoe, Men's Tandem Canoe, Women's Tandem Canoe, Coed Canoe, Family Canoe (adult & youth 12 or under), Men's Kayak (K-1), Women's Kayak (K-1), Inflatable Kayak (IK-1), and Recreational Open (OR).

Trophies will be given to the 1st and 2nd place winners in each category. 

On-site registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and costs are $25.00 per adult and $20.00 per child. Fee includes Verde River Canoe Challenge t-shirt, American Canoe Association participant insurance and refreshments. 

Participants must check-in at the White Bridge Park between 7:30 am and 9:30 am.  For more information contact:
