2004 KME TYPE-1 fire engine. The Fire District is also on hand throughout the Parade route and Festival, ensuring our community safety and providing EMT’s.

The parade is starting. Here comes the banner to announce the start of the 35th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Dreams of Green. The theme concept was created by the “The Green Team”.

Irish Pipes of Sedona:

 Short: This is the second year for this band.  Last year, the Band consisted of only 4 Pipers.  This year, it has doubled in size and has managed to incorporate some drumming. The Band is an equal opportunity employer as both male and female Pipers and Drummers are participating.

Camp Verde Cavalry Color Guard 

The Camp Verde Cavalry was organized in May of 1958 and has enjoyed being the color guard for Sedona’s parade for many years.  This group has thrilled crowds all over Arizona, California and Nevada.  This Camp Verde Calvary Rides with Pride where ever they Ride.

Grand Marshal: Janeen Trevillyan

Janeen is President of the Sedona Historical Society, nd she’s involved with several other organizations and activities that support historic preservation and the recognition of and respect for Sedona’s rich and unique history.  Janeen is also Chairperson of the City of Sedona Historic Preservation Commission and Secretary for the Yavapai County Cultural Heritage Alliance.  She serves on the Sedona Main Street Program Board.  Her most passionate involvement at this time is her role as a member of the Steering Committee for the Heart of Sedona Task Force.   Janeen has lived in Sedona for 6 years and feels her volunteer opportunities are a 'gift' from the community.

Short: Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 7400 Commander Gene Hydle.  All members are Decorated combat Veterans, the Color Guard is commanded by Col. Jack Pierce, U.S. Army WWII, Included are Major Ralph Wundrey, U.S. Air Force Pilot, WWII, the American Flag is proudly carried by its newest member Sean Lowman U.S. Army, who recently returned from 11 month combat Duty in Iraq.

Arizona Rangers –Verde Valley Company:

The Arizona Rangers originated in 1901. This is the Verde Valley Company of the Arizona Rangers. They currently have the only Mounted Ranger Patrol in the state. Arizona Rangers serve as law enforcement backup for Verde Valley; responding to assist Sedona Police Dept., Cottonwood Police Department, Jerome and Camp Verde. Short: 2005 is the Centennial Anniversary of the U.S. Forest Service and they are giving us a look backward in time with their 1925 vintage truck, carrying their mascot Smokey Bear who reminds us all that “ONLY YOU, CAN PREVENT FOREST FIRES.” Also riding along is another guest from the Forest Service, Woodsy Owl, who reminds us “TO GIVE A HOOT, DON”T POLLUTE.”

Short: The original granny dance troupe in the Verde Valley and sponsored by the Adult Community Center of Sedona. These lively ladies have been strut tin’ their stuff around the Sedona area for over 16 years. The dancing divas range in age from 58 to 88 years old.  And as you can see by their enthusiasm and energy, this is not your same old granny group.

St. John Vianney Women’s Guild:

St. John Vianney Women’s Guild is a vibrant group of volunteers at the Catholic Church.  They minister to the Homebound, The Bereaved and use their energy by having fund raisers and donating to the less fortunate.

Knights of Columbus:

There are over 2 ˝ million Knights of Columbus members that volunteer tens of thousands of hours to Church communities, state and international causes.  The Knights of Columbus is the largest single contributor to The Special Olympics.

Garbage Can Band:

The Garbage Can Band is made up of students grades 5th through 8th at Big Park Community School.  They perform around the area and are happy to be here today.  They would like to thank the community for their continuing support of their school.

Sedona Heritage Museum:

Short: The Sedona Historical Society and Sedona Women have shared dreams of our citizens re-establishing a Heart of Sedona to serve as the heart of our town.  What a wonderful dream of a community gathering place where residents and visitors can both enjoy community activities and entertainment, the Creek walk and Forest Service trails.

Short: For the fourth year in a row The Adult Community Center of Sedona, providers of Meals on Wheels, Community Lunch, Telecare and other services for seniors in the Sedona and Village of Oak Creek is raffling a beautiful vintage Corvette. The car will be raffled on July 4th.  Tickets may be purchased with the flyers that are being passed out today. Join the fun and support your local Meals on Wheels program. 

Long: For the fourth year in a row The Adult Community Center of Sedona, providers of Meals on Wheels, Community Lunch, Telecare and other services for seniors in the Sedona and Village of Oak Creek is raffling a beautiful vintage Corvette.  This years raffle has an added bonus whereby the winner gets their choice of the beautiful 1965 Red Corvette Stingray or this gorgeous Custom Motorcycle or $25,000.00 cash!!! Sedona Police Department:

Sedona Police Mounted unit is used for Special Events and occasional patrol in areas of large foot traffic.  The unit has been in place for over three years.  The unit is also used to search for lost hikers or suspects.  All horses are personally owned by the officers who ride them.  “Molly” is partners with officer Wendy Parkison, “Missy” is partners with officer Dave Zanot and “T-Bone” is partners with Officer Rena Dearden!  (Note: let’s say thanks to the mounted unit and all the police working along the parade route to ensure our safety this morning)

Sedona Elks Lodge #2291:

The Sedona Elks Lodge is an organization founded on Brotherly Love, Charity, Justice and Fidelity.  Each year the Sedona Elks feeds more than 900 people for free for Thanksgiving.  They also joined up with the Sedona Masonic Lodge and take over 25 children shopping for Christmas.  Helping others is their goal. These are the Sedona Girl Scouts where girls grow stronger!  Their mission is to inspire high levels of character, conduct, patriotism and service.  Girl scouting empowers girls to develop a sense of self worth, to reach their full potential, and they like to have fun!  There are 143 girl scouts in Sedona this year.

Pink Jeep Tours:

Since 1958 Pink Jeep Tours the original Jeep tour company in the country has been providing the most talked about off-road adventures in the Southwest.   Riding in the Jeep is “Yes the ARC”, a non-profit organization providing recreation training and jobs for developmentally disabled adults in the Verde Valley for 29 years.

Here comes, RONALD McDONALD!!  Ronald travels the world as goodwill ambassador for McDonald's Restaurants and Ronald McDonald House Children's Charities, but today he is here with us at our 35th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, helping us to DREAM GREEN.  Ronald's entry today was arranged by Greg and Della Cook, owner/operators of the McDonald's Restaurant in Sedona.  After the parade Ronald will visit with all of his friends at McDonald's.  Don't miss the fun! Parades, kids and McDonald's.  I'm lovin' it!  Let's all give Ronald McDonald a warm Sedona welcome!!!!

Greyhound Pets of America:

Greyhound Pets of America and a coalition of greyhound groups raise funds to ready retired racing greyhounds for adoptive homes.  This noble ancient breed is gentle, affectionate and make perfect house pets.  These athletes that reach 40 miles per hour on the track revel in being allowed to sack out on any available soft dog bed or couch.  They are comics, tricksters, cuddlers, and greeters, not to be mistaken as watchdogs.  Love on 4 legs.

Red Hat Society:

The Curvaceous Cuties of Sedona – they’re all members of the International Red Hat Society Organization for women over 50, along with Dame Harriet -a 90 year old member. They dress in purple, and don outrageous red hats to prove to the world that they are still young at heart and fun loving.

Gypsy Chicks:

The Gypsy Chicks & Friends are from Flagstaff and Surrounding areas.  They perform daring sword, silk veil & Egyptian cane dances.  Great Entertainment for all ages.  You can find the Gypsy Chicks at The Hideaway Restaurant in Sedona.
