Canoe
Challenge Distance:
10 miles (Race Start: White Bridge to Race Finish: Beasley Flats).
River Difficulty: Class I, II and III (depending on the river level)
Time:
Race starts at 10:00 am (shuttles from Beasley Flats start at 7:30 am until 9:30 am)

Rules:
Each participant shall read and sign an American Canoe Association Waiver and Release of
Liability AND a USFS Visitor's Acknowledgement of Risk form. A parent or legal guardian
shall sign for minor participants. Each participant shall present a current American Canoe
Association (ACA) membership card or pay a $5.00 ACA Event Membership fee. This covers a
one-day event insurance coverage that is required by the USFS Special Use Permit granted
for this event. Each participant is required to wear a United States Coast Guard (USCG)
approved type II, III or V personal floatation device (PFD). All kayakers are required to wear helmets. Failure
to adhere to these rules will result in disqualification from the Canoe Challenge without
a refund of fees. No Exceptions!
Fees: Pre-registration (postmarked by
Wednesday, March 20, 2002):
Children (12 and under): $10 per
child plus $5 per child ACA Event Membership = $15*
